how I'd plan my acting career if I could go back in time

If I could plan my acting career again I'd do these things different.

• I'd start at a community theatre with 14 years to get to know director who could help me and give me tips on courses and other things. These community theatres are quite good, Die Schatulle, Heubühne, Die Dramateure, Junges Theater Winterthur. Or go for Konstanz because they act in german.
• go for an acting course at Junges Schauspielhaus Zurich.
• Apply for the one year programm at burgtheater.
• go for open stage contests, Burgtheater, Böser Montag, Schräger Mittwoch, Kafi für Dich.
• I'd join an improv group because it helps to get couragous and helps to a better self esteem.
• I'd try to get to Gymansium Rämibühl for Theater AG.
• I'd apply at agencies already, because teenagers are rare.
• I'd audition at all big acting schools in the german area from 18 until my final possible year with 24. there is an age limit in the german area. and go there no matter how evil it is.
• I'd try to network much earlier but I did. Already as a teenager.
• I'd go for courses at Herbert Fischer, Focal, Summerschool in USA at any University such as Guildhall, Bill Esper, Julliard.
• Try to already audition and find my jobs on 451.ch, theaterpädagogik.ch, theater.ch, studentfilm.
• make my own movies and send them to film festivals.
• go for premieres at Schauspielhaus or other bigger poductions.

and of course I did all that already in my teens and not in my twenties.

movies I've seen on the 10th zurich film festival

Here the List of Movies I've seen and what I think about them.

• Labyrinth des Schweigens
  this movie impressed me the most. It's a really good german movie and I love the performance of the main actor and actress Alex Fehling and Friederike Becht. The cruelty of WW2 is being silenced by traitors as well as victims until a young judge makes it his issue. the story is based on history and of course the movie concerns a heavy chapter of human history or it's post effect on the world. Nontheless the movie is humanistic and tells the story beautifully.

• and so it goes
  a classic among the film world. Two people in their late years find second love with each other. though the story truly is not one of the best, the two actors Diane Keaton and Michael Douglas make the best of it.

• Bouboule
  coming of age in french. A nice movie about an overweight boy finding a mentor in a somewhat questionable security man. I don't like movies where the main character has now true growth in it, especially if it's a coming of age movie. It's nice but not much more.

• Ruth & Alex
  this movie with Diane Keaton & Morgan Freeman I liked a lot better. It's not about just a couple finding new love. It has more depth to it, since the couple spent a lifetime with each other. They deal with getting older and a significant problem when becoming so.

• Song from the Forest
  impressive but not truly making a point. a man living since centuries with an native tribe in Africa.

• My old Lady
  here I need to read the play. A wonderful story about an inheritance with beautiful surprises. Actress Maggie Smith was just wonderful although I don't know how much different she is in other roles or in real life, but I believed her every second. Truly one of my favorites.

• Cut Bank
  a movie about a village, a boy whom wants to leave and the men form there. Most impressed was I by a native american looking actor whom is not listed on imdb although he had a significant part to me. The biggest disappointment was the only bigger female role whom simply was a classical cliche but well played by Teresa Palmer. John Malkovich and Billy Bob Thornton are of course great. Best shot scene at the entrance where first Thornton then Malkovich is in focus.

• Red Army
  wonderful documentary about the red army and it's glorious times. The most wonderful fact here, that male friends can forgive each other although feeling betrayed.

• Ulrich Siedl – A Director at Work
  a TV Movie. It's alright.

• The Green Prince
  this movie a documentary is truly one to watch. after this you have a small insight what it's like to be a spy. what it's like to be a real spy and the line being walked by them. It's also a movie about a friendship that should not be, but under unbelievable circumstances develops. Astonishing I'd say.

• The Skeleton Twins
  this movie was to superficial for the rather heavy subject to me. Although I think, that making stories light for the audience instead of shocking them, I just didn't like nor understand what the key message should be.

Sadly none of the seen movies made it on my favorite's list. Which means I'd watch any of them a second or even third time.

active for acting october 2014

The 10th Zurich Film Festival was full on and I watched a lot of movies which you can see here.

• saw "and so it goes" with amazing Diane Keaton, whom was present that evening and received her Golden Icon Award.
• bumped into Rolf Sommer. Very funny. :)
• had another performance with Marc my partner at die Freischwimmer.
• went to the ZFF Masters with Ulrich Seidl.
• watched several movies and had lunch with my film director friend Hannah Lichtenstein. 
• Called beloved Casey Hartnett whom just told another wonderful story on her youtube channel called Arthur's Twin! Watch it it's sweet.
• submitted the movie I've done for the 72 Talent Contest at ZFF to more Film Festivals.
• applied for the SBKV annual artist catalogue.
• met my acting friend Victor whom is again intern at Theater Hora.
• ran lines for a pilot film shooting of Testo.
• sent the casting director of Mamma Mia a heartbreaking email why I should audition although she thought I was not good enough and what a great fan I used to be of ABBA! Haven't heard back yet. End of October.
• coordinate with Testo and my make-up artist Alex Lampart.
• Buy trousers for that shoot at PKZ Woman.
• shoot at Testo four Movies in 14 hours!!!

• apply for an audition at a swiss feature film with my CV, pictures and a special Video about why I love acting. You can see it here. But beware, it's swissgerman.
• Received the Play where I help Eva Mann to direct at LAWUA.
• got a call from Testo.
• watched "Krimi im Dunkeln" from Dinnerkrimi which is made by Denlo Productions at Restaurant Blinde Kuh! Was very special and cool!
